Music festival has attracted international percussionists

HA NOI (VNS)— Thirty-one percussionists will gather to perform at the third international percussion festival taking place in Ha Noi and HCM City next month.

Titled Cracking Bamboo, the event is expected to bring together European and Asian musicians in a cultural exchange as well as offer music fans some great entertainment.The show will feature percussionists from Germany, Belgium, Canada, France, Mongolia, Myanmar, South Korea, and Thailand, as well as six Vietnamese artists performing on traditional musical instruments including dan bau (monochord) and t'rung (a musical instrument made out of a set of short bamboo tubes differing in size).

Hosted by the Goethe Institute, the festival will take place at the Ha Noi's Youth Theatre on October 7 and at the HCM City Academy of Music on October 10.

Free tickets can be picked up at the Goethe Institute Ha Noi, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc St, from 10am, October 1, and at the Goethe Institute HCM City, No 18 Road 1, Do Thanh Housing Compound, District 3, HCM City, from October 3.-VNS
