Short play set to be staged in capital
Written in Spanish in October of 2009 by Stephanie Benamozig, the original version of El Momento was presented in Buenos Aires. The play was then translated into French as 15h33 and performed in Paris in 2010. The play now makes way, in English, to Ha Noi.
15h33 is a tale escaping from its book, where the characters meet without seeing each other but share the same mirror.
The play will take place from 8.30-9.30pm on Friday, June 8, at Chez Xuan Restaurant Garden Bar&Grill at No 41 Lane 76, An Duong Street, Tay Ho District. Suggested donation VND40,000.
Charity event highlights Indonesian culture
The Indonesian Embassy will host a cultural and charity night on Sunday, at Melia Hotel, 44 Ly Thuong Kiet Street.
Entitled A Journey to Wonderful Indonesia, the event's proceeds partly will go to humanitarian activities in Viet Nam.
During the event that will run from 6pm until 9.30pm, attendees will be able to enjoy, besides the gala dinner, traditional dance and music as well as a signature batik fashion show. Chic&Cheap flea market to attract women
Chic&Cheap flea market is an event held once every two months. The Chic&Cheap Flea Market II will be on Sunday, at 300 Bach Mai Street, Hai Ba Trung District, from 10am-4pm.
As the name refers, this is the place for girls and women to sell, buy and exchange their second-hand clothes, shoes, accessories. Apart from the market, workshops on origami, hair braiding, nail art, cartoon sketching, tie dye, and photo booths will make sure that everyone has a good time.
The Chic&Cheap on Sunday will present more than 1,000 items from 30 individual sellers. Different styles such as gothic, Korean, vintage, tribal, Oriental, will be available at prices under US$20.

FVH offers an array of cultural activities
Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH) – a non-formal group of Ha Noi's residents from many countries working voluntarily to promote and preserve Vietnamese cultural and historical heritage will host a Japanese-speaking visit to the National History Museum at 1 Trang Tien Street, next Tuesday, June 12. Australian show features 200 premium wines
The annual Australian Wine Show featuring over 200 premium Australian wines will be held at the Caravelle Hotel tomorrow and Saturday.
In the lead-up to the event, an Australian Wine Challenge is organised today to unveil the best Australian wines available in Viet Nam. A Trade Show will take place tomorrow from 12am to 4pm, followed by a gala dinner at 7pm, while the Wine Show Public Day will be held the next day from noon to 4pm.
Tickets for the dinner are available at the hotel at VND3.3 million net per person. For public day, tickets are VND350, 000 per person. They can be purchased at Vino in districts 1 and 2, and Bacchus Corner or The Warehouse, both in District 1.
Show to feature French music from the 1950s
An event featuring French songs and dance titled Everlasting French Songs will be held at Ben Thanh Theatre on Saturday.
The show includes famous French songs from the 1950s, performed by French and Vietnamese singers, including Lobo, Jordane, Quang Vinh and Thuy Trang.
A fashion show will be held by Belgium designer Chan N May, with her brand IDYLL. A French cancan dance will be also be part of the event, which will begin at 6.30pm.
Tickets ranging from VND250,000 to 500,000 are available at the venue at 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street in District 1.
Night of Georges Bizet heads to opera house
The HCM City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will present a concert of French composer Georges Bizet at the HCM City Opera House on Saturday.
The orchestra will open the concert with Roma symphony in C Major under the baton of Tran Nhat Minh. The ballet Carmen will end the show with performances by Nguyen Thu Trang, Ho Phi Diep, Pham Duc Nhuan and the HBSO artists. More information on tickets, contact at 38237419 and 62704450. — VNS
