HAUTE CUISINE ON THE HIGH SEAS ABOARD PARADISE ELEGANCE
Luxury cruise brand Paradise Cruises has scored a major coup with its “Haute Cuisine on the High Seas” cruise on board Paradise Elegance on 23 August, 2017.
Paradise Cruises’ newest boat, the Paradise Elegance, will welcome two star Michelin chef Thierry Drapeau, and renown Argentinian winemaker Maximiliano Ortiz, on board. The French chef will be cooking a five course feast for guests, paired with Argentinian wine from Trivento winery. This is an exclusive cruise for only 30 guests, exploring Halong Bay for 2 days, 1 night.
Edgar Cayanan, Paradise Cruises’ General Manager, was thrilled to welcome Mr Dapreau and Mr Ortiz to Elegance, which is not only a first for Paradise Cruises, but also Halong Bay.
“We are really proud to be the first and foremost cruise operator in Halong Bay to welcome a two star Michelin chef — Thierry Drapeau — onboard,” said Mr. Edgar Cayanan. “This event is a chance for Paradise Elegance to elevate the dining experience for our guests and emphasize our leading position in cruise line food and beverage.”
Being one of the top French chefs, Thierry Drapeau has proved his outstanding culinary talent, having been awarded two Michelin stars for the La Chabotterie restaurant at The Vendée, France. Over the course of one evening designed to surprise and delight French Food lovers, Mr Drapeau will satisfy even the most discerning palate with his special five course menu. Personally selecting premium ingredients like black salmon caviar, truffles and foie gras, Chef Drapeau will cook up a storm, intertwining and balancing flavours and spices with his extraordinary flare and technique guaranteed to capture the hearts — and tastebuds — of diners.
Costing an all-inclusive $3,500 per person, this unique cruise focuses not only on the experiential dining experience in La Marin Restaurant, but is also a drawcard for wineloners: Mr Drapeau's five course feast will be paired with award-winning wines from 100 year old Argentinian winery, Trivento. After dinner, guests will adjourn to Le Piano Bar to listen to sweet melodies while enjoying a cigar and glass of cognac — the perfect place to wrap up dinner in picturesque Halong Bay.The inaugural “Haute Cuisine on the High Seas” cruise is expected to not only bring an authentic French culinary experience to Halong Bay, but also create a whole new wave of cruise tourism in the UNESCO World’s Heritage Site.
The Paradise Elegance cruise first sail in early 2017 as one of the largest and most luxurious boat in Halong Bay, bringing the total number of boats in the Paradise Group to 11. The Paradise Elegance is 60m in length, and has 31 cabins with windows boasting panoramic views of the bay. The ship promises a whole new experience for guests as it features the utmost luxury in amenities, services and facilities, making it a “floating five star hotel” in the heart of Halong Bay.
Particularly paying attention to every detail, Paradise Elegance offers one of the most unique high-class cruising experiences in the Bay. A butler service for each cabin will ensure all guests are well-cared for during their 2 days and 1 night exploring Halong Bay.
