Hang  Mua - the glamorous "Queen" of Trang An

Being part of the Trang An landscape complex, Hang Mua is a must choice when it comes to Ninh Binh Travel, thanks to its unique location that provides an extraordinary panoramic view of Tam Coc from on high.

In spite of not being as well-known as Trang An or Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Hang Mua lives up to its reputation and continues to capture the hearts of visitors. Recently, Hang Mua emerged as one of the top destination choices by foreign visitors because of its remarkable natural beauty and high quality of services, as the site remains wild and is not as crowded as other well-known tourist spots.

Picture 1: The beautiful panoramic view of Tam Coc from the top of Mua Peak.

Hang Mua is located at the foot of Mua Mountains, which look like a large overturned bell, measuring about 800m2 wide. There are hundreds of white stone steps leading to the peak of the mountain, which is often referred to as appearing like a mini Great Wall Of China. On both edges of the stairs, there are stone lines that are elaborately decorated with carvings of a dragon or phoenix, inspired by the Tran dynasty’s art.

It has been said that when he first came to the Hoa Lu area and built the Thai Vi Temple, Tran King often visited Hang Mua to enjoy dancing and singing by local people. Therefore, this place was named Hang Mua (Dancing Caves)

To get there, tourists can follow National Highway 1A to Ninh Binh city, go along the road  to Trang An or Tam Coc and follow a sign leading to Hang Mua (Mua Caves). Along the way, visitors often have the opportunity to see the magical site of endless rice fields among old villages, waterfronts, rivers, lakes and the majestic mountains of Ninh Binh.

The special thing about Hang Mua is not the caves, but conquering the 500 stone steps heading to the peak to enjoy the panoramic scenery of Tam Coc, which brings a special feeling of accomplishment to climbers.

Picture 2: The incredible scene and glamorous view when the sun goes down.

Standing on top of Hang Mua, the magnificent landscape will impress even the most jaded tourists. The entire landscape is  captured, as the winding river flows through the middle of the fields. There are also a few boats slowly floating, and appearing like floating leaves over the surface of the water.

Particularly in May and June, when Tam Coc’s landscape is filled with the colors of yellow paddy fields, which is often called the "golden season", the beauty of the natural scenery is undeniable from the top of Hang Mua.

When it comes to the Tam Coc - Bich Dong destination, it is a must not to miss Hang Mua, traveling to the top of the mountain, along with the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, which can be easily viewed. The picture is breathtaking, which explains why it was chosen as the ancient capital of the country hundred of years ago.

Picture 3: Visiting Hang Mua is not only about having the chance to enjoy the unbelievable natural beauty, but visitors will take thousands of stunning photos to bring home.

In recent times, Hang Mua was built to become an eco-friendly tourist destination that is combined with mountain climbing. A tourist area was created with the hearts of those people who truly love Ninh Binh and it displays their desire to preserve and conserve the Trang An Landscape Complex - a wonderful gift from Mother Nature – which was listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2014.

Unlike other too-crowded tourist attractions, Hang Mua has a beautiful culture, combined with a peaceful natural landscape. This resort provides full services for tourists, such as accomodations, food and beverages, climbing areas, sightseeing, and much more.
