TIỀN GIANG — Residents in Cái Bè District in the Mekong Delta province of Tiền Giang have complained about the dust and noise from a local rice milling factory, causing pollution in the locality.

Many residents in An Lợi Hamlet, Đông Hòa Commune, said the factory operates all day and night.

They could not sleep due to the noise from the rice milling factory of Tứ Trí Co, Ltd in An Hiệp Hamlet.

“Rice husks and dust from the plant fly everywhere, covering the surface of half of the local canal,” said Trần Nam Sơn, a local resident in Đông Hòa Commune.

He also said residents have repeatedly reported the situation to the local authorities but they have not taken measures to deal with it.

According to a report from the Voice of Việt Nam, this factory has been operating for about four years, causing a lot of dust during operation.

Tourism activities in Đông Hòa Hiệp Village have also been affected, the report said.

“The problem has been reported to the local resources and environmental office and we are waiting for its results to issue specific solutions,” said Võ Minh Nhựt, chairman of People’s Committee of Đông Hòa Hiệp Commune. — VNS
