HCM CITY (VNS)— Viet Nam and Indonesia held their third Bilateral Dialogue on Strengthening Enforcement of Wildlife Laws in HCM City yesterday.
It is being attended by officials from related ministries and other agencies in the two countries and the ASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network.
The annual one-day dialogue was held to enable the two countries to share experiences and co-operate in wildlife and forest protection and enforcement of related laws.
"This dialogue will underline several issues that are a common interest for the two nations," Sri Murniningtyas, director of Indonesia's Centre for International Co-operation, said.
"One particular issue is to work together in responding to illicit trafficking in wildlife."
Later yesterday afternoon the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on enforcement of wildlife laws. — VNS
