BA RIA – VUNG TAU — Viet Nam Salvage Company has collected 40 tonnes of oil from the wrecked Truong Hai Star off the shore of Vung Tau, according to the Vung Tau Port authorities on Thursday.

The 3,500-tonne Truong Hai Star carried 40 tonnes of fuel oil, 10 tonnes of diesel oil and more than 1 tonne of motor oil. After colliding with the Thai ship Krairatch Dignity on April 9, the cargo ship has completely sunk and now poses a high risk of an oil spill.
