HA NOI – Over 20 members of HCM City's Tourism Association (HTA) have been working with Viet Nam Airlines (VNA) to implement a domestic tourism stimulus programme.
Under the programme that will run until the end of the year, each company will have six tours' discounts of 25 to 30 per cent.
Nguyen Thi Thu, deputy head of VNA's sales development, said VNA would offer discounts of up to 40 per cent for flights from HCM City to Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Phu Quoc and Da Lat if tourism companies committed to reducing tour prices.
Tran Van Dong, director of Huong Bien Travel Company on Phu Quoc Island said he would encourage hotels and resorts on the island to reduce prices by 40-50 per cent, saying that airfare and tour discounts would boost tourism on the island.
Seeing it as a good business opportunity, Cao Tri Dung, director of Vitour said he had talked with his partners in Da Nang and asked them to reduce the costs of at least 10 services there. – VNS
