Students get ‘blended learning’

HCM CITY — A new method of blended learning, which combines classroom and online learning, helps Vietnamese students access standard high school education programmes in the US and Canada.

The method is being used at Apax Franklin Academy’s new flagship campus in HCM City’s District 3, which officially opened on Saturday.

The school has opened another flagship campus in Hà Nội.

The programmes of Blyth Academy, a partner of Apax Franklin Academy, are part of the Ontario-based curriculum that uses experiential blended-learning and is supported by Vietnamese coaches.

The academic expectations at Apax Franklin Academy are the same as all other Blyth Academy schools in Canada, the US, Qatar and Italy.

David Hooser, president of Franklin Virtual School and founder and chairman of the Franklin Group in the US, said: “In the context of Industry 4.0, education is no longer confined to a physical framework.”

The use of technology in teaching and the emergence of mobile learning technologies, big data, IoT (Internet of Things), and AI (Artificial Intelligence) has opened up opportunities to access advanced learning methods and knowledge from the world’s leading education institutions in Việt Nam, Hooser said.—VNS
