HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has approved a proposal to develop infrastructure facilities for the Sông Công II Industrial Zone (IZ) in the northern province of Thái Nguyên.

The plan, expected to cost over VNĐ1.75 trillion (US$77.3 million), aims to attract more investors to the IZ, particularly those specilising in machinery, engineering, electronics and automobile production and assembly, thus contributing to local socio-economic development. It will be implemented from now to 2020.

The provincial People’s Committee is to instruct the Thái Nguyên IZs Authority to work with relevant bodies to complete a project feasibility study and submit it to competence agencies for approval.
