HCM CITY — A wide range of fruits and vegetables, speciality products for Tết (Lunar New Year) such as cashew nuts, candied fruits, meat paste, rice and traditional fish sauce are available at the Green-Nice Tết Market that opened at 12 Phùng Khắc Khoan, Đa Kao Ward, District 1 in HCM City on January 21.

Besides, visitors will have chance to buy unique traditional medicinal herbs of the Dao ethnic minority at the Tết Market themed “Spring Gifts-Vietnamese Tết 2017”.

Held by the High Quality Việt Nam Goods Businesses Association, the Southern Agricultural Commercial Service Centre and the Business Studies and Assistance Centre, the fair has attracted nearly 70 farmers, co-operatives, traditional craft villages and businesses from many provinces and cities.

All products on sale at the market have clear origins and meet hygiene and food safety standards, according to Vũ Kim Hạnh, chairwoman of the High Quality Việt Nam Goods Businesses Association.

Open until January 25, the fair includes many activities, including culinary performance, a lucky draw programme, many attractive promotions and others.

Hạnh said the market was held to support farmer households, co-operatives, traditional craft villages, Young Start-up Clubs, and businesses nationwide producing speciality products following green and clean technologies to access the city market.

Besides, the market will be a bridge to introduce to city consumers regional farm produce and specialities, as well as new and commonly used products of high quality made by Vietnamese businesses.

The market also aims to encourage consumers to use Vietnamese green-clean and safe products, she said.  — VNS
