HÀ NỘI – Up to 88 businesses will be presented with the "Việt Nam Value Award 2016" in recognition of their strong national brand names on November 30, officials announced on Wednesday.
Deputy Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion Agency Đỗ Kim Lang said, of the 88 businesses, 23 firms won the awards five consecutive times, including Việt Tiến, An Phước, Sài Gòn Beer-Alcohol-Beverage JSC (Sabeco) and Vina Coffee, as well as Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Việt Nam JSC (Vietcombank), Biti’s, Việt Nam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Sài Gòn Jewelry JSC (SJC).
Further, 26 enterprises reported annual revenues of at least VNĐ5 trillion (US$220 million) and 70 others earned at least VNĐ1 trillion per year, according to Lang. Some small companies will also be honoured for their efforts to invest in new fields such as biotechnology and hi-tech industries.
This year’s award winners operate in various fields such as engineering; machinery and equipment; garments, textiles and footwear; and electronics, information technology and telecommunications, as well as agriculture, forestry and seafood; finance and banking; food and beverages; trade services; and construction and real estate.
In 2015, their combined revenues exceeded VNĐ662 trillion, up nearly 20 per cent from the figure in 2013. They exported over $2 billion worth of goods, contributing more than VNĐ59 trillion to the State budget, and created jobs for nearly 500,000 labourers.
The enterprises also donated more than VNĐ2.3 trillion to charity concerns last year. – VNS
