Gold price hits two-year high

The domestic gold price recorded its highest level in two years yesterday, reaching about VNĐ36 million (US$1,607) per tael or 1.2 ounces yesterday under the sharp rise of global prices.

HÀ NỘI — The domestic gold price recorded its highest level in two years yesterday, reaching about VNĐ36 million (US$1,607) per tael or 1.2 ounces yesterday under the sharp rise of global prices.
In the afternoon, Sài Gòn Jewellery Company listed each tael of SJC gold at VNĐ36.16 million – VNĐ36.72 million (buying – selling), a record high since the end of July 2014, soaring VNĐ720,000 from early sessions of the same day.
The Bảo Tín Minh Châu Jewellery Company also sold its gold at VNĐ380,000, an increase of VND220,000 per tael from the morning.
Gold prices in the Asian market soared more than 0.2 per cent to US$1,350.6 per ounce at the first session of the week yesterday. — VNS
