HÀ NỘI – There will be at least two telecommunications enterprises allowed to provide services for apartment buildings in Hà Nội starting on Monday, to avoid the current monopoly situation.

The Hà Nội People’s Committee recently issued a decision regulating installation and the management and usage of centralised inboxes, telecommunications cabling systems, and coverage systems in high city buildings with multiple owners.

The decision takes effect on June 6.

“We just moved to the Pháp Vân – Tứ Hiệp Apartment for two months. We used Internet services of FPT before moving here, and we want to continue to use their service. But the apartment we live in now only has Viettel service. So we have to register for a new Internet provider,” an apartment owner living in the Thanh Xuân District shared with Hà Nội Mới Newspaper.

“If the decision takes effect, we will be more free to choose our providers. This will boost competitiveness in providing services among telecom enterprises,” he said. - VNS
