Food Ingredients exhibit opens

Viet Nam News –HCM CITY — Many innovative new products are on display at the Food Ingredients (FI) Việt Nam exhibition that opened yesterday in HCM City.

Novel products include collagen, brown rice pilaf (a mixture of brown rice and fresh vegetables), Alicook ice cream powder (a slow-melting, savoury powder made from ingredients from Thailand, India, Spain and New Zealand), rice flour and related products, and pea protein.

Jointly organised by UBM Asia and the HCM City Food and Foodstuff Association, FI is a leading exhibition in the domestic food and beverage industry.

This year it has attracted 150 producers and distributors from 26 countries and territories.

Rungphech Chitanuwat, marketing director of UBM Asia, told Việt Nam News that the biggest difference this year is the focus on “spotlight products,” referring to products that exhibitors have developed in recent year.

The exhibition, at the Sài Gòn Exhibition and Convention Centre in District 7, closes on Friday. — VNS
