Online shopping day sales kick off

HA NOI (VNS)— Autumn Online Shopping Day, a part of Online Friday to be held on December 4, started yesterday.

Customers will be able to buy 50,000 products from more than 500 companies, many "on special discount".

The products have been updated and categorised on website www.onlinefriday.vn.

Discounted products include electronic products, household applications, fashion and learning equipments.

Customers can pay by cash, cards or money transfer through banks.

There are also 2,015 products with super discounts now on sale in Mega Mall Times City in Ha Noi yesterday.

About 7,000 people have registered to buy 2,015 products with super discounts, according to the management board of Online Friday.

Products bought yesterday will be delivered to home with fee discounted by 50 per cent, according to the management board.

The event aims to promote online shopping by offering good quality products at discounted prices, said Tran Huu Linh, head of VECITA.

The event is also an opportunity for enterprises to promote their products, he added.

Online Friday was first held last year. It attracted 10.7 million accesses, bringing a total revenue of US$7.5 million.

Online Friday 2015 is expected to attract 2,500 businesses with about 15,000 registrations and a total turnover of $25 million.

The event has been organised by the Viet Nam E-commerce and Information Technology Agency (VECITA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Viet Nam E-commerce Association (VECOM) and online newspaper Vnexpress. — VNS
