HA NOI  (VNS) — Exports of tra fish to the UK rose 43 per cent in value in the first six months compared to the same period last year, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Tra fish exports to the European market dropped to US$129.6 million, falling by 16.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The UK is the fourth largest importer of Vietnamese tra fish in the EU, after Spain, the Netherlands and Germany, according to VASEP.

Exports of tra fish to the market soared by 97.8 per cent in January compared to the same period last year, and grew from 12–60.5 per cent from February to May.

VASEP forecasts a positive outlook for tra fish exports to the UK this year due to the market's stable demand and high prices. — VNS
