HA NOI (VNS)— The Nokia mobile phone manufacturing plant in Viet Nam has shipped its first batch of goods abroad, according to the plant's Director General Ivan Herd.
Radio the Voice of Viet Nam (VOV) website quoted Herd as saying that the plant, located in the Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in northern Bac Ninh Province, will be officially inaugurated in September.
The factory is designed to have an annual output of 180,000 units. Most of its products will be exported. Construction on the plant began last April with total registered capital of US$302 million.-VNS
