HA NOI - (VNS) The European Commission (EC) has announced a probe into the evasion of anti-dumping tax by companies shipping disposable Chinese-made lighters to the EU from Viet Nam.
Viet Nam's Competition Management Agency, a part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, confirmed that a EC agency will investigate seven Vietnamese companies who export lighters, and work with local customs agencies to collect for more information about the case. The investigation began in June and will continue until April next year.
Although the probe is mainly focusing on the lighter manufacturers in China, the Competition Management Agency said the results will affect all Vietnamese lighter exporters to the EU market as well. -- VNS
