HA NOI — As many as 42 per cent of Vietnamese phone users want to make the switch to smartphones in the next six months, according to a recent Nielsen survey.
According to the survey, which was conducted in over 39 countries in Asia and the Pacific, 70 per cent of Vietnamese consumers use ordinary mobile phones. But 42 per cent of them want to exchange these devices for smartphones in the next six months.
Most Vietnamese people select their phones by asking friends, families and colleagues for advice, according to the study. Many individuals (39 per cent) say they are attracted by phones displayed in shops, and a smaller number (6 per cent) seek out information about phones on leaflets.-VNS
