Japanese firms eye business links

HCM CITY — A multi-sector delegation of businesses from Japan met on Monday with executives of more than 30 Vietnamese companies in HCM City to seek trade and investment opportunities.

The visiting companies specialise in power-transmission parts, metal equipment, porcelain, indirect-measuring equipment, mould creation, water purifiers and food trading.

Speaking at the Viet Nam-Japan Business Matching, Nguyen Hong Ha, deputy director of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry's HCM City branch, said bilateral trade had reached US$21.1 billion last year. Vietnamese exports accounted for $10.7 billion. — VNS
