Exports to China hit $5 billion

HCM CITY — Vietnamese export turnover to the Chinese market reached US$4.84 billion the first five months of the year, an increase of 28.63 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Agro-forestry and fisheries still accounted for the largest proportion with 35-40 per cent of export turnover, followed by the minerals and energy with 25 per cent and industrial and processing items with 20 per cent. Compared to the same period last year, Viet Nam's exports of computer and electronic parts to China recorded a higher export turnover of $684.67 million, an increase of 221.5 per cent. — VNS
