BAC NINH — Nokia on Monday officially started work on its US$302 million mobile phone manufacturing facility in northern Bac Ninh Province to meet the ever rising demand for mobile phones in the world.
Located in Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Bac Ninh Province, the Nokia Viet Nam manufacturing facility is being developed on an area of 17ha. Nokia expects to start the operation of this factory in early 2013.
This event is one step further in reaffirming Nokia's long term commitment to Viet Nam's market, under Nokia's strategy to connect the next billion people to information and the Internet.
Nokia has had a presence in Viet Nam since 1996 and considers the country a potential developing market. It also strives to become an important part of community life in Viet Nam. — VNS
