The training centre has been set up at a cost of VND32 billion (US$1.5 million) by the Sai Gon New Port Corporation (SNP) and Netherlands-based STC, a maritime and transport training institute, with partial funding from the Dutch Government.

The centre would provide training in terminal operations and transport logistics to SNP staff to meet the demand for human resource development in the country's terminal and logistics sectors, Nguyen Dang Nghiem, deputy chairman and CEO of SNP, said.

He said the partnership between SNP and STC was helping the development of Viet Nam's maritime and logistics services while also enhancing bilateral relations.-VNS
