Belgian firm leases production site

HCM CITY — Viet Nam's Sepzone-Linh Trung Co, an investor in Linh Trung Export Processing Zone, signed an agreement to lease land to the Belgian company Sopura S.A. to build a factory that would produce sanitizing chemicals used in the brewery, beverage and food-processing industry.

The signing ceremony took place at Linh Trung Export Processing Zone and Industrial Park III in southern Tay Ninh Province on Thursday.

Attending were Jean-Claude Marcourt, vice president of the Walloon Government's Ministry of Economy, members of the Tay Ninh People's Committee and the trade commissioner of Belgium in Viet Nam.

The Sopura S.A project is the first European project in the Linh Trung Export Processing Zone and Industrial Park III, with total investment capital of US$2 million. It is expected to open by the end of the year.

The chemicals will be sold for domestic consumption and exported to other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.-VNS
