Ha Noi-- VietJet Air has signed an Inventory Technical Management (ITM ) services agreement with the SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), a major provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) in the Asia-Pacific, the VietJet Air said today.
"VietJet Air has decided to cooperate with SIAEC in a bid to meet the dispatch demands and strict maintenance work of its A320 fleet", Vice Director General of VietJet Air, Priram Singh said. With this cooperation, VietJet Air will provide its customers with cheap prices and friendly services, meeting international standards for low-cost flights, the Vietjet Air vice director added.
Under the contract, SIAEC will provide VietJet's fleet of aircraft with a wide spectrum of ITM services, including spares pooling and support, component repair and overhaul. ITM services aim to bring high dispatch reliability for VietJetAir, can lower aircraft maintenance costs and effectively use the spares pooling and support of both sides.
The contract was signed during the Singapore Air show in 2012 held between Feb14-19, 2012.
The agreement is in line with VietJetAir's strategies to professionalise its fleet and marks a turning point for VietJet Air to open its new international flights in Asia in this year, Mr Priram Singh said.
SIAEC said they are confident in providing 24/7 support, high dispatch reliability and seamless technical support across its growing international network. The company has a client base of more than 80 international carriers and aerospace equipment manufacturers. SIAEC has approvals from 25 national aviation regulatory authorities to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft registered in the US, Europe and Japan , among others.—VNS.
