The country’s fisheries output topped VNĐ1.3 million tonnes in 2015, an increase of 3.93 per cent over 2014, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported on Wednesday.

It consisted of 1.28 million tonnes of catch in the sea and 67,000 tonnes inland. The provinces with the highest catch included Nghệ An, Bình Định, Thái Bình, Kiên Giang, Quảng Bình, Sóc Trăng, Thanh Hóa, Bạc Liêu, Bến Tre, and Phú Yên.

The ministry targets an output more than 1.57 million tonnes this year.
