The Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta city of Can Tho plans to develop tourism into the key economic sector, Le Minh Son, deputy director of the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, told a seminar on Tuesday.
The city will focus on developing inland waterway tourism, urban tourism and eco-tourism this year.

Da Nang to move railway station out of city
The Da Nang People's Committee has petitioned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to evaluate two projects – relocation of the railway station and the urban redevelopment project - and submit them to the Government for adding to the official assistance development (ODA) funding list.
The railway station and other related works, now in the downtown area, will move to Lien Chieu District, 16km of railway tracks will be laid, six flyovers and roads to the new railway station will be built, and residential areas will be relocated.
The works will cost US$442.33 million.

Da Lat water supply system to be upgraded
The Lam Dong Province Water Supply Company would upgrade and the expand the water supply system in Da Lat to increase the number of households getting clean water to 95 per cent by the end of this year, its director Vo Quang Tuan said.
The company will also finish the second phase of a wastewater treatment plant that has a capacity of 12,500cu.m a day.

Ninh Thuan fishermen land bumper catch
Fishermen in the central province of Ninh Thuan have returned with bumper catches of mackerel after Tet (Lunar New Year).
Fishing boats could each catch 1.2-2 tonnes on trips of one to two days for a profit of around VND10 million (US$450).
