A forum on attracting investors to the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) region was held on Wednesday by the Dak Lak People's Committee in Buon Ma Thuot City. The event attracted more than 200 foreign and domestic enterprises. The participants asked local authorities to offer more flexible administrative policies and taxation.
The Tay Nguyen region has became a promising market for investors, attracting several thousand foreign and local enterprises. In Dak Lak only, more than 6,400 enterprises have invested in key factors such as agriculture, forestry and tourism.

City teachers to receive pay for overtime
Teachers in HCM City vocational training schools and schools for disadvantaged children will receive pay for extra work next year, according to the city's Department of Education and Training. The additional payment is around 10 per cent of the teachers' monthly salaries.
The teachers have been working longer hours for little or no extra pay.

HCM City focuses on milk production
HCM City now has 160,000 cows, a year-on-year increase of 25.7 per cent, according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Of the number, 103,000 are dairy cows, an increase of two per cent more than in 2014. This figure accounts for 37.5 percent of the 275, 000 dairy cows in the country.
Milk production in HCM City totalled 275,000 tonnes last year, an increase of 9.2 per cent year-on-year.
The city has launched new breeding programmes to support start-up capital and breeder cows imported from Australia and Israel. The city has helped farmers living in the rural districts of 12, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi.

Bus stations to see 100,000 Tet passengers
HCM City's leading coach stations will serve more than 100,000 passengers each day from January 29 to February 12, an increase of 5 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to Pham Dinh Duc, head of the Department of Transport's Public Transport Operation and Management Office. Each station will have a management group to help passengers and solve problems around the clock during the peak days of the holiday.
