The Pasteur Institute in HCM City began offering 4,000 5-in-1 Pentaxim shots this week. Pentaxim is 5-in-1 combination vaccine to immunise against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Haemophilus influenzae type B.
Dr Phan Trong Lan, head of the institute, said that it would administer 200 shots a day over a 10-day period. Parents can call the centre's hotline at 1080. The other 2,000 shots have yet to be scheduled.

City proposes new $520mil power plant
The HCM City Department of Planning and Investment has asked for approval from the city's People's Committee to build a waste-to-power plant using thermal plasma technology from Trisun Green Energy Company.
The US$520 million project, covering an area of 13ha and equipped with plasma torches to achieve temperatures of 3,000 degrees Celsius to incinerate waste, is expected to treat 2,000 tonnes of domestic waste daily.
The investor estimates that waste treatment by thermal plasma technology will cost $32 per tonne. The facility would charge $31.88 a tonne if it treats 1,000 tonnes a day and $29.88 a tonne if it treats 2,000 tonnes a day.

3.9 million arrivals to Quang Nam in 2015
Quang Nam's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the province received 3.85 million arrivals in 2015, up 4.6 per cent from the previous year.
International visitors reached 1.9 million, an increase of 6.67 per cent year-on-year.
Tourism revenue was VND2.57 trillion (US$114.2 million), up 16 per cent. Total visitor spending from tourism reached more than VND6 trillion ($266.6 million).
The province expects to receive 4 million visitors this year.
