This is an effort to bring official information directly to local residents and organisations, and to disseminate instructions and policies from authorities to the people. HCM City to spend $460m for climate study
The HCM City People's Committee has approved the first phase of the feasibility study on the effect of tides on climate change, with capital up to VND10 trillion ($460 million).
The project will build six large and 68 small tide-controlled sluice-gates and a 7 km dyke along rivers around the city from now to 2018. The city's authorities will give land to investors instead of money. When the project finishes, it will help the city cope with climate change on an area of 570 square km with total population of 6.5 million.

Dong Nai Province protests 18-km road
The southern province of Dong Nai People's Committee has asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to reconsider road construction in the national Cat Tien Park's core area. The ministry had approved a project to build an 18-km road at a width of six metres running along Dong Nai in Tan Phu District. The project will destroy 11 hectares of forest, impact forest biology, divide the natural forest along the Dong Nai River, and change animal habitats.
