Can Tho International Airport will receive flights from South Korea starting during Tet (Lunar New Year) next February, Vo Thi Hong Anh, deputy chairwoman of the city People's Committee, said at a meeting with a South Korean business group on Monday.
The committee has worked with low-cost carrier VietJet Air to start the service, she said.
The airport is also part of the domestic air network, she said.

HCM City could celebrate Spring Flower Fair
The HCM City Department of Transport has urged the city's People's Committee to organise a Spring Flower Fair at Tao Dan Park from February 3 to 14 to celebrate Tet.
The Tet flower markets will be held at September 23 Park, Gia Dinh Park, and Le Van Tam Park.
The department also proposes to organise flower markets at 128 points in 21 districts from February 1 to 7.

Phu Yen home to FDI projects worth $4.5b
The central coastal province of Phu Yen is home to 40 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth a total of more than US$4.5 billion.
They have created a total of 4,780 jobs and contribute VND60 billion ($2.7 million) to the State budget every year.
Some more projects are under construction, including the Vung Ro refinery with an annual capacity of 8 million tonnes, the New City Viet Nam luxury resort, and the Sunrise Phu Yen luxury tourism complex.

Southern province to face water shortage
More than 17,000 households in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Tra Vinh will face a shortage of clean water next dry season, according to its Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Bui Van Mung, director of the department's Centre for Water and Rural Environment Hygiene Centre, said the province would offer assistance to households lacking access to clean water to buy water containers.
The province has 165 water supply stations that serve more than 77,900 households.
