HCM City eyes three new general hospitals

HCM City plans to build three general hospitals in Thu Duc, Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts at a cost of around VND5.7 trillion ($261 million). The proposal has been sent to the People's Council for discussion at the upcoming session in December.

Each hospital will have 1,000 beds and they will start operating in 2021.

Cu Lao Cham to get power from grid in 2016

Cu Lao Cham Island in the central province of Quang Nam will be connected with the power grid in the second quarter of next year.

Late last week Electricity of Viet Nam's Central Power Corporation signed an agreement with Prysmian Thai Duong Company to lay an undersea 22kV cable to supply power to the island.

The cable is expected to cost over VND348 billion (US$16 million).
