The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund have launched a national scholarship programme called Brighten Your Dream for ethnic minority students.
It will give away scholarships to more than 5,000 students nation-wide to enable them to continue with their studies in 2015-2016.
This year the fund has received VND37 billion (US$1.7 million) from domestic and foreign individuals and organisations for its scholarship and charity programmes.

Binh Dinh Youth Union helps young people
The Youth Union of the southern coastal province of Binh Dinh has spent VND155 billion (US$4.3 million) this year to help thousands of young farmers set up their own businesses.
The union has also worked with local vocational training centres to offer free training and career counselling for more than 10,000 young people and provide jobs for 3,000.

Hundreds get free treatment in HCM City
More than 1,000 poor people living in rural districts, including older adults and children with disabilities, attended a Health Care Day in HCM City on Tuesday.
They received free treatment, medicines and health counselling from young doctors and health workers from the university and local hospitals. Eyeglasses and wheelchairs were also provided for elderly patients.
It was organised by the city Department of Health in co-operation with the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
