Construction on a housing complex for workers began on May 26 in the northern province of Thai Nguyen's Pho Yen District.
The Yen Binh Investment and Development Joint Stock Company invested 3 trillion (US$140 million) in the project.
The complex, covering 17 ha, includes 48 nine-storey buildings. It will provide 3,000 flats for people working at the Yen Binh industrial, agricultural, urban and service complex when it is completed in four years.

City to host Asia-Pacific bonsai festival
The annual Asia-Pacific bonsai festival will be held at the Japanese Garden in HCM City's Hoc Mon District from June 5-8.
The festival will display 610 bonsai, including 390 works for competition, created by artisans from provinces and cities in Viet Nam and regional countries.
Local and international artisans will showcase their growing and pruning techniques at the event.

Summer Youth Volunteer Programme opens
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched on Thursday a nationwide Summer Youth Volunteer Programme in Thai Nguyen Province.
Thousands of young people and students will help students traveling to take the university entrance exam, and offer free health treatment for the elderly and poor in rural areas.
This year, volunteer activities will focus on islands and coastal areas.

Agriculture export turnover reaches $11.4b
The export turnover of agricultural, forest and aquatic products reached US$2.37 billion in May, and $11.4 billion in the first five months of this year, a decrease of 7.3 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
Agriculture products earned $5.62 billion in export revenue, forest products $2.69 billion, and aquatic products $2.41 billion.
