The Ministry of Heath on Thursday told the Ninh Thuan Province's Health Department to strengthen prevention and control of bird flu H5N1.
On May 11, a bird flu outbreak occurred in a poultry flock at a household in Ninh Son District's Nhon Son Commune. The health department will disseminate information on measure to take to prevent the spread of the virus to humans.

Youth volunteers to help disadvantaged
The 2015 summer volunteer youth campaign, with the theme "Youth proudly move forward under the Party flag" has scheduled a variety of activities during June and August.
The campaign includes volunteer programmes such as tiep suc mua thi (university entrance exam support) and mua he xanh (green summer).
During the campaign, the country's five centrally-run cities, Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, HCM City and Can Tho, will organise volunteer groups to work in economically disadvantaged areas, especially islands.

City aims to triple incomes of the poor
The HCM City People's Committee aims to reduce the rate of the city's poor households and near-poor households by 1 per cent a year in the 2016 – 20 period. The city also targets the average income of poor households in 2020 to increase by 3.5 times compared to 2011.
To meet the targets, the city will focus reducing poverty in a sustainable way and issue new standards for the poverty and near-poverty thresholds in the 2016-20 period.
The city will also change the measurement of poverty from a single perspective (such as income) to a multi-dimensional perspective.

Quang Ninh seeks infrastructure backing
The Quang Ninh Province People's Committee is seeking investment in major infrastructure projects, including transport, hotels, education, health and environment.
The projects include Van Don International Airport, Van Don – Mong Duong – Mong Cai expressway, Van Tien Bridge linking Van Don and Tien Yen districts, international hospitals in Ha Long and Mong Cai, and upgrading of Cai Rong and Hon Gai ports.

A million register for high-school exams
At least 1 million students nationwide as of May 20 had registered for high school graduation exams this year, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
Of the figure, 279,000 registered for only high school graduation, and the remaining for both high school graduation and entrance to college and university.
