Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a plan to establish a fisheries centre in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Kien Giang. The provincial People's Committee will work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to set up the project.
According to a general plan to develop the fishery industry to 2020 toward 2030, the country will establish six fisheries centres and five of them will be connected to key fishing grounds. The Kien Giang fishery centre is one of five such centres and connects to the southwestern fishing ground.

SBV calls for holiday-ready ATMs
The State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) has said in document No2537/NHNN-TT that auto teller machine (ATM) card supplier companies must maintain funds and operations of ATMs during the upcoming holiday. SBV has also required banks to take measures to protect ATMs.

Environment violators to be named
The deputy head of the Environmental Protection Department, Mai Thanh Dung, late last week said the names of enterprises that violate environmental regulations will be made public.
This is part a new regulation of the amended Law on Environmental Protection, which aims at expanding rights and responsibilities of individuals, enterprises and organisations to protect the environment.
