The People's Committee in Tuong Duong District in the north-central coastal province of Nghe An said construction had begun on the Nam Non, Nam Mo Hydroelectricity Joint Stock Company in the district's Ang village.
With a capacity of 17MW, the plant is being built by Song Da Joint Stock Company No. 4. Total capital was more than VND520 billion ($24.8 million). It is expected to open after 20 months of construction.

Inspection teams to enforce insurance law
Central inspection teams including the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour this month will begin work to enforce the social insurance law at enterprises in six provinces, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Dong Thap and An Giang.
The team will focus on enterprises with a large number of workers, and those that do not pay social insurance for their workers. After the surveillance, the team will report their results and petition the National Assembly and Prime Minister for solutions on how to deal with enterprises that do not pay social insurance.

Vinh Long Province tourism up 9.6%
The Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long has welcomed more than 24,670 domestic and foreign tourists since the beginning of the year, an increase of 9.6 per cent compared to the same period, according to the provincial People's Committee. Of these, the number of foreign tourists accounted for 66 per cent.
Apart from eco-tourism sites, the province's tourism sector has paid more attention to advertise historical and cultural relics and craft villages. The whole province has more than 450 historical relics attracting large number of foreign tourists.
