Binh Duong targets 85% urbanisation

The southern province of Binh Duong aims for an urbanisation rate of 75 per cent to 85 per cent with a population of 2.5-3 million by 2020. There are two million people now living in urban areas on 40,600 hectares, accounting for 15 per cent of the province's total area.

The province has 28 operational industrial parks (IPs) covering an area of over 9,000 hectares. It targets 35 IPs on total area of 14,000 hectares

More than 90,000 people from other provinces move to the province every year, most of them work in IPs with companies from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and the US.

Ministry supports disadvantaged students

The Ministry of Trade has issued Decision 405/QD BTC on delivering 30,000 tonnes of rice from the national rice reserve to disadvantaged students living in poor and remote areas in 49 cities and provinces this year. Local authorities will deliver rice to their students each month. With financial support, the students will have a chance to continue their studies.
