Dong Nai cashew exports up in January

Dong Nai Province-based cashew processors exported more than 3,000 tonnes of raw nuts for US$20.7 million in January, a year-over-year increase of 58 per cent in volume and 79 per cent in value.

The major export markets included the US, Europe, and China.

Ha Noi to have 49 flower fairs for Tet

The Ha Noi People's Committee will organise 49 flower fairs and markets during Tet (the Lunar New Year), 21 in the inner districts and 28 in outlying areas.

They will remain open from February 8 to 18.

The city has instructed the Department of Transport, police, fire service, and district people's committees to regulate traffic and fire safety and environmental hygiene during the festival.

Mekong provinces to create 410,000 jobs

According to the Southwest Region Steering Committee, Cuu Long (Mekong) River Delta provinces hope to create 410,000 jobs this year, an increase of 5.6 per cent year-on-year.

They will provide vocational training for locals, encourage businesses to set up over 14,000 industrial plants, and expand industrial parks.

In January the provinces created 34,000 jobs, a year-on-year increase of 5.7 per cent.

VN literature promotion events in March

The Viet Nam Writers Association will host three events to promote Vietnamese literature in Ha Noi from March 2-6.

They include an international seminar on Vietnamese literature, an Asia-Pacific Poetry Festival, and Viet Nam Poetry Day.

Nearly 200 delegates from 39 countries and 550 from Viet Nam will take part in the events.
