The central province of Thua Thien-Hue is planning to restore 22 relics in the Hue Citadel area in 2015, according to Phan Thanh Hai, director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre. The total cost for conservation and restoration is VND150 billion (US$7 million).
The centre expects to complete restoration of Thai Binh Palace, Ta Tung Pagoda, and the mausoleum of Tu Duc King, among others, in the first quarter of the year.

City launches gift programme for workers
The HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre is co-operating with the city's Food and Foodstuff Association (FFA) to launch the programme "Gifts for Workers during Tet."
Twenty-two members of FFA will take part in the programme. They will provide nearly 100 kinds of food and essential foodstuffs at reasonable prices for enterprises that have demands to buy gifts for workers during the Tet holiday.
The registration for the programme will end on February 10.

1.1m rural workers get vocational training
Nearly 1.1 million rural labourers have taken part in vocational training courses since 2009, heard a conference on job training for rural labourers by 2020, held in Ha Noi on Thursday.
The Viet Nam Farmers Union opened 33,600 training classes on agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, industry and small-scale industry, and presented jobs to more than 51,000 trained workers each year.

Lam Dong to build, repair 42 bridges
The Transport Department of the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Lam Dong has launched a project to build and repair 42 cable-stayed bridges. Of these, 15 new bridges will be built, and 27 bridges repaired. The 42 billion ($1.9 million) investment will be sourced from the State budget.
