The Cuu Long (Mekong) River Delta City of Can Tho has attracted five new projects in 2014 that raises the total number of projects in local industrial parks (IPs) to 214, including 23 foreign direct investment projects.
Fourteen projects added US$54.8 million to their capital, a year-on-year increase of $7 million. The total investment capital of all projects reached $1.91 billion.
Businesses in the IPs earned $1.4 million in turnover in 2014.

Workers returning from RoK seek new jobs
More than 300 workers back from South Korea took part in a Job Introduction fair organised by the Vietnamese Overseas Labour Centre and the Ha Noi Centre for Job Introduction in Ha Noi on Thursday. Fifty-two businesses, including 17 South Korean firms, recruited people to work in mechanics, sales, marketing, electronics, services, construction and other fields. The salaries offered will range from VND6 million ($280) to VND10 million ($467) a month.

Ha Noi spends VND2.3 trillion on Tet stock
The Ha Noi Industry and Trade Department has announced that it will spend VND2.3 trillion (US$107 million) on stocking goods for Tet (Lunar New Year).
Ha Noi also offered a loan of VND267 billion ($12 million) for businesses to stock essential products including rice, pork, chicken, egg, seafood, cooking oil and vegetables.
The department forecasted that sales would increase by 15-20 per cent over the holiday.

Thu Dau Mot City wins ‘second-class' status
The Binh Duong Province's People's Committee has announced the Government's decision on recognising Thu Dau Mot City as a second-class city. It has a total area of 11,866 hectares, consisting of 14 wards with 298,140 people.
