The Viet Nam International Agriculture Fair 2014 kicked off in Can Tho on Wednesday, with more than 200 local and foreign companies displaying their foods and services at 500 booths.
With the theme of co-operation and development in agriculture and promotion of agro-fisheries exports in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta, exhibits include machines, equipment, production lines and storage solutions.
The fair, which will run until December 16, also features plant protection and animal feed products, as well as other biotechnology applications and products made form cassava, rice and special kinds of fruits in the Mekong Delta.

Jetstar adds HCM City, Bangkok flights
Budget airline Jetstar Pacific has announced its new daily service between HCM City and Bangkok. The service departs from Tan Son Nhat airport at 1.05pm and departs from Bangkok at 3.20pm.
Jetstar Pacific operates flights linking 10 cities in Viet Nam and several international destinations, including Singapore, Macau and Thailand.

Groups give families free check-ups, medicine
The Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association's business club, together with HCM City-based Cho Ray Hospital, have organised a trip to Cambodia to provide free check-ups and medicine to poor families in the remote province of Ta Keo in Cambodia.
During the two-day trip, the group treated nearly 500 people, many whom live near the Viet Nam – Cambodia border. Total costs for the trip were nearly VND1 billion ($46,820), which was sourced from HCM City businesses, individuals and organisations.
