More than 1,000 disabled people living in HCM City participated in Career Day on Wednesday organised by the city's Support Centre for Vocational Training and Job Promotion for Disabled People. According to the organisers, 30 enterprises offered nearly 1,000 jobs with the monthly salary of 2-5 million (US$100-250) per person to interviewees.

Kien Giang University opens
The Kien Giang People's Committee has announced that the Prime Minister has approved the opening of Kien Giang University in the province's Chau Thanh District. The institute includes 12 faculties such as natural resources, tourism, food technology-seafood processing and information technology. It is expected to attract around 15,000 students from now to 2020.

City needs 265,000 jobs next year
HCM City will need 265,000 jobs next year, according to the city's Centre of Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market. Export processing zones and industrial parks will need to recruit around 30,000 labourers. Fields with high recruitment demand are mechanical engineering, construction, health care, tourism, electricity and electronics, and information technology.
