Around 370,000 children from one to 14 years old in 15 cities and provinces nationwide received the measles and rubella vaccines as part of the first stage of a national campaign offering free vaccines from September 15-29.
This month, vaccines will be given to another 11,000 children who were absent due to illness.
Dr Nguyen Tran Hien, head of the National Expanded Programme on Immunisation, said the healthcare sector would install software to connect people with information on immunisation, and send SMS messages to remind children about the vaccines.
