Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a 2020 national industrial stimulation programme aiming to develop the industry in the country's rural regions. In the programme, around 100,000 of labourers will be trained for industrial facilities in these regions by 2020. Around 10 thousands of people will be given facilities to attend courses on business start-up courses. Moreover, machines and technologies also will be provided in the programme.

Mekong Delta student tops VTV quiz show
With the highest score of 260, Nguyen Trong Nhan of Tien Giang High School for Gifted Students in Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang won the first prize of the 2014 Road to the Peak of Olympia, the annual national quiz show for high school students on TV organised by Viet Nam Television. The award for Nhan is a scholarship worth US$35,000 to go abroad. Over last 14 years, the contest has been a familiar playground for high schoolers in the whole country to learn each other.

Health examination scheme launched
A programme for taking care of health for old people in the whole countries was launched in Ha Noi last Sunday. In the programme carried out by the Central Committee of Viet Nam Youth Federation in co-operation with Viet Nam Young Physician Association, the old is examined and provided free medicine.
The two-month programme attracts more than 3,000 doctors and 5,000 volunteers.

Medical equipment to be inspected
Ministry of Health this week will begin the inspection of using medical equipment at health facilities at four large cities of Ha Noi, Da Nang, HCM City and Can Tho. The inspection will prolong four months and focus on checking the origin and import companies of medical equipment as well as using.
Each year, the ministry issues import license for around 4,000 medical equipment, accounting for 70 per cent -80 per cent of the total medical equipment in Viet Nam.

MoF grants $78m for rice cultivation
Ministry of Finance has approved to allocate more than VND1.648 trillion ($78 million) for the protection and development of land for rice paddy cultivation in the whole country in this year.
Four provinces receiving the highest allocation are Kien Giang, An Giang, Ba Ria Vung Tau, and Dong Thap. Binh Duong receives the lowest one.
