Dong Nai lures $21 billion in FDI

The southern province of Dong Nai has 1,000 FDI operating projects with total investment capital of US$21 billion, according to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment. The department reported that local authorities had licensed 1,430 FDI projects worth $25 billion.

This year, the province revoked licences of eight projects worth $86 million, including five in its industrial park.

Quang Ngai certifies heritage trees

The Viet Nam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) issued national heritage certificates for two banyan trees over 200 years old on Ly Son Island off the coast of Quang Ngai Province last week.

The trees are located at the Dun Temple in Dong Hamlet, An Hai Commune, and at Tam Hoa Temple in Tay Hamlet, An Vinh Commune.

A total of 611 trees throughout the country have received the name, Viet Nam Heritage Tree, including three in Quang Ngai.

Hau Giang begins social housing project

The first-ever social apartment project in southern Hau Giang Province named Thien Loc began construction on Tuesday.

Located at Tan Phu Thanh Commune, Chau Thanh A District, the project is invested in by Thien Loc – HG Jsc. It covers an area of 8.4ha and costs an investment of VND524 billion.

When finished, the project will feature 1,230 social apartments of 31 to 63sq.m, priced from VND190 million.
