Khanh Hoa to build $2m hospital

The Khanh Hoa Province People's Committee has approved construction of a hospital in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago at a cost of VND43.5 billion (US$2.05 million) in 2014-15.

It will have 30 beds and advanced medical equipment and facilities to meet the requirements of a grade 2 hospital.

It is part of the province's plan for development of marine and island healthcare networks by 2020.

Exhibition on Geneva Conference opens

An exhibition featuring 120 photos, relics, and documents related to the 1954 Geneva Conference opened in Ha Noi on Monday.

It provides a lively and truthful picture of the country's fledgling diplomacy 60 years ago in the struggle to achieve liberation.

The exhibition will go on until the end of next month.

City calls for landslide projects to be sped up

The HCM City People's Committee has instructed the Department of Transport to speed up progress of works like building embankments to prevent landslides in the Thanh Da Peninsula to ensure protection of human lives and properties.

Relevant agencies have been ordered to set aside priority funds for urgent construction of landslide prevention projects this year.

Quang Ngai to provide free seedlings

The People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province has decided to support farming households affected by natural disasters with seedlings to enable them to resume farming.

The programme is expected to cost more than VND33 billion (US$1.55 million).
