Ha Noi has set a goal of achieving economic growth of 9.5 per cent in 2015, higher than the level in 2014, which is projected to be below 9 per cent.
In order to achieve that goal, the chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee, Nguyen The Thao, asked departments and districts to hasten the restructuring of economic sectors; to complete social-economic development planning; and to focus on improving the business environment as well as increasing the Provincial Competitiveness Index.
The capital city's internal income is expected to increase by 14-16 per cent and income from export-import activities by 6-8 per cent in 2015.

Wastewater treatment plant opens
A wastewater treatment facility, part of a $78.5m environment project, was put into operation on Sunday in the central province of Quang Binh.
The Duc Ninh wastewater treatment plant, which is built near Le Ky river and has a capacity of 10,000 cu.m per day, uses environmental-friendly eco-lakes to help collect and treat the wastewater of 78,000 residents in the city.

Work on metro kicks off in City
Construction on the first underground station of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line will begin today, according to HCM City's Urban Railways Management Unit.
The construction of the station, which is located in front of the Municipal Theatre in the heart of the city, is expected to be finished at the same time as the completion of a new Uncle Ho statute and the upgrade of Nguyen Hue street in April 2015.
The station, which is 190m long, 26m wide and 40m deep, will have four platforms serving two tracks.
