Pig prices skyrocket as chicken prices fall

The price of live pigs in southeastern provinces has risen by VND1,000-2,000 to VND50,000 per kilo compared to a week ago. This is the highest price since the beginning of this year.

According to households, the breeders can earn a profit of VND10,000 per kilo at these prices. The price hike was caused by a sharp increase in demand for Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

The industrial chicken price fell to VND24,000-25,000 per kilo. For chicken egg, the breeders have also suffered a loss of VND50 per egg at a selling price of VND1,550 each.

The southern province of Binh Duong has established a customs office at its international seaport. The new office is expected to facilitate administrative and customs procedures for import-export activities.

The office will help local companies save on transport costs and time as they no longer have to travel to HCM City to complete customs procedures on import-export activities.
